A QUIET WEEK—FINALLY
Summertime is finally catching up to us. Our business is slowing down. Are we worried? NOPE! In fact, we intentionally slowed down. We have been working nonstop with no breaks since June 2025. We made sure we could take some much-needed time off (we’re closed July 27-Aug 1) before ANA. Recharging is a must for us—especially since Part I of the Collection of a Lifetime will make an appearance at ANA. Prepping the 300 coins greatly added to our workload and really wore us out.
If we had wanted to, we could have sold a ton of coins this week (without much effort, we did sell one $50,000.00 coin). Replacing them would be nearly impossible right now. We managed to purchase a $200,000.00 deal, though—but it’s really not the hot stuff. It is mindboggling to us that the market is still expanding. For coins UNDER $5,000.00, that deep black hole is now endless. Actually, you can pretty much extend that to $10,000.00. Every day, the collector base expands because of the dealers on certain apps. As we have said many times before, the biggest problem is the places that report coin prices. They can’t keep up. And some are too cheap to hire reporters. That situation makes life difficult for both collectors and dealers. Something MUST change.
We strongly advise you buy coins today. If we have any kind of break, summer doldrums, dip, or whatever, you’ll come out ahead down the road. Because of the great difficulty in finding better date coins, we suggest building a box of 20 or a Type set. Or you can just buy coins you like (what a novel idea). Good luck; there really isn’t much around, though. Don’t overthink anything. Had we stayed for FUN and seen a few more people, our website would have lost probably 25% of what is listed (we had sold a lot at the show, including a $200G coin). An FYI, Laura had heat exhaustion and is feeling much better now.
