Last week our sales were quiet. However funny thing happened over the July 4th weekend-collectors wanted to buy coins. We sold several mid five figure coins-two off the web, the rest privately. All of the sudden during one of the biggest vacation weeks collectors were buying coins. There was no massive wave, just a decent number of buyers popping up. As we are writing this, another coin (non gold) just sold off our site for $28,000.00-followed by a $32,500.00 NEWP! Coins are selling!

The Long Beach Show is far from what it used to be. We used to do a million in sales and a million in buying during good shows. These days we don’t even make our expenses. We think Long Beach has become a strong regional show. Apparently, the promoters don’t care about coins, its mostly a baseball card show. Plus, people do not like its current location-not in a main hall. Something needs to be done to that show. It used to be important to the market.
The FUN show was the success everyone knew it would be. We know on the first day our “super-secret stealth seller” friend broke $350,000.00 in sales-a record for a first day there. Overall, he sold $700,000.00 which is pretty darn good. We had made offers on a few coins he had that we thought were too high. Boom! He sold them. Sometimes it’s hard for us to figure the market. We do pay strong to stock coins and even stronger when we really need something. So, for us to be nuked, it has to be really strong! EVERYONE we spoke to from the show said it was good and actually had a slight buzz.
