THE UN EXPECTED – LONG BEACH

Our expectations for the Mid Year show were very minimal. We primarily attended because we have that huge table and we had two deals to pick up. We really can’t say we have had a decent selling show in over a year at the Long Beach shows.

Public attendance was strong. Good thing we did bring some select coins from our inventory. In the end, we were shocked that we did just over $200,000.00 in sales-including 2 sizable sales to new customers. While that sum overall is not huge, it was surprising to us at the ease the sales happened.

No question there was a glimmer of activity. The summer doldrums have not shut things down-only slowed them a bit. BUT if you have the right coins, there is no slow down – we found a very scarce dated Saint and it was sold before the ink dried. Of course the only problem continues with the coin market as getting nice fresh coins has been the problem for the last 2+ years.

We think July will be above average in terms of activity. There will probably be a short pause, but activity will not stop.

Legend is positioning itself for full activity by mid July. We expect to have many NEWPS and the Market Reports will be flowing again! Stay Tuned!
