1836 $1 Liberty Seated J-60 Gobrecht Original PCGS PR63 (CAC) OGH ULTRA HIGH END!
$60,000.00
It is a neat coin to behold. We fully rank the quality of this coin as SUPER HIGH END!
First, unlike so many of these we see, this coin actually has strong mirrors. We examined this coin closely using a strong magnifier. We found some faint lines but NO hits or even tiny problems anywhere. When you twirl the coin, the mirrors look like a freshly formed sheet of ice-abiet with a light, watery roll. Technically, we do consider this coin a PR64 (we MAKE NO PROMISES). There is deep original toning of navy/champagne colors evenly spread all over. This is NOT a black or dull coin by any stretch. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and boldly stand out. The eye appeal is terrific!
It is estimated that 1,000 were minted. PCGS 23, NGC 0, CAC 4. The last PCGS CAC piece to sell via auction brought $72,000.00 01/2025. It was a special piece that was presented to Andrew Jackson. The current Collectors Universe value is a more appropriate $65,000.00.
Save for the Jackson coin, we have not seen any offered via major public auction since 2020.Do not believe the pops, this is a VERY rare date and grade. CAC has beaned 6 in PR64 (NONE higher). Today, a PR64 CAC would easily run you OVER $100,000.00. And if you had to buy it out of auction, it would hurt!
We are pleased to offer this wonderful original ULTRA HIGH END coin for addition to your collection.
